I started playing guitar 27 years ago. The first rock song I ever learned was Deep Purple's 'Smoke on the Water'. By age 14, I really started listening to metal music - Metallica, Fates Warning, Iron Maiden, Megadeth, etc.
I eventually gained an interest in classical guitar and went off the college to get a degree in classical guitar performance. After 3 years, I developed an interest in jazz guitar and switched over to playing that for about 3 years.
While working on writing a CD, I decided I was going to play all the guitar and bass parts, so I bought a Fender 5-string and realized that I loved playing it.
So, I answered an ad looking for a bass player and have been a bassist ever since.
